The Research Center envisions to develop international academic and cultural networks of research and information written about the Manila-Acapulco galleon. It plans to link this history with the present and the importance of globalization from the Pacific region perspective in a permanent and dynamic educational context.
It is going to forge contacts of principal research institutes and universities from Philippines, Mexico, Spain, China, Japan and South East Asia countries. This collaboration would encourage studies, discussions and conferences on the development of maritime trade, climate change in the Pacific region, and various noteworthy academic themes that will permit interchange of knowledge and experiences in different fields. Physically, it houses a conference room, a digital library and a number of research office spaces.
It will support the development of the museum with deeper information on aspects that established naval history in the Pacific especially the historical experience of the Manila-Acapulco galleon trade.
